Description
Hand-carved and hand-painted floating eagle ray crafted from sustainable Ecuadorian balsa wood. Lightweight, smooth, and designed for water play, each piece reflects the beauty of ocean life and the artistry of traditional craftsmanship.
Eagle rays are found in warm and temperate coastal waters around the world, including the Pacific Ocean near Ecuador. They are known for their distinctive diamond-shaped bodies and long tail, as well as their graceful, bird-like swimming style as they glide through open water.
These rays feed mainly on small fish, crustaceans, and mollusks found on the ocean floor. While generally harmless to humans, they play an important role in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems. Some species are affected by fishing practices and habitat degradation, making ocean awareness and conservation increasingly important.
Each figure is individually hand-carved and hand-painted by artisan families, meaning every eagle ray has subtle variations that make it unique. A floating toy designed to combine play, craftsmanship, and curiosity about marine life.
