Description
Hand-carved and hand-painted floating hammerhead shark crafted from sustainable Ecuadorian balsa wood. Lightweight, durable, and designed for water play, each piece brings together ocean life and traditional artisan craftsmanship.
Hammerhead sharks are found in warm and tropical waters around the world, including the Pacific Ocean near Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands. They are easily recognized by their unique head shape, called a cephalofoil, which gives them enhanced vision and sensory ability to detect prey hidden in the sand.
These sharks are apex predators, playing an important role in maintaining balance within marine ecosystems. However, several hammerhead species are considered vulnerable due to overfishing and demand for their fins, making ocean conservation efforts increasingly important.
Each figure is individually hand-carved and hand-painted by artisan families, meaning no two hammerhead sharks are exactly alike. A floating toy designed to combine play, craftsmanship, and curiosity about marine life.
