Description
Ballpoint pen crafted from sustainably sourced Ecuadorian balsa wood, hand-carved and hand-painted by local artisans. Each piece transforms a daily writing tool into a small work of art that reflects tradition, creativity, and cultural identity.
This design is inspired by the Venus of Valdivia, one of the most iconic archaeological figures of Ecuador’s ancient Valdivia culture. These small ceramic statuettes, created thousands of years ago on Ecuador’s coastal region, are considered among the earliest known representations of human figures in the Americas and are often associated with themes of fertility and ritual symbolism.
By reinterpreting this heritage through handcrafted woodwork, each pen becomes more than a functional object—it becomes a connection between past and present craftsmanship.
Compatible with replaceable ink cartridges, this pen is designed for long-term use. Each piece is individually hand-carved and hand-painted, meaning no two are exactly alike. A collectible, functional object that blends writing, design, and Ecuadorian cultural history.
