Description
Ballpoint pen crafted from sustainably sourced Ecuadorian balsa wood, hand-carved and hand-painted by local artisans. Each piece turns an everyday writing tool into a functional collectible inspired by wildlife and traditional craftsmanship.
Sloths are native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, including Ecuador’s Amazon region and coastal forests. They are best known for their slow movement, which helps them conserve energy in a low-calorie leaf-based diet, and for spending most of their lives hanging upside down in trees.
These gentle rainforest animals play an important role in their ecosystem, supporting forest biodiversity and hosting algae and small organisms in their fur, which contributes to a miniature ecosystem on their bodies. While some species are not currently endangered, sloths face ongoing threats from deforestation, habitat fragmentation, and human activity.
Compatible with replaceable ink cartridges, this pen is designed for long-term use. Each piece is individually hand-carved and hand-painted, making every sloth slightly unique. A playful and functional object that connects writing, design, and rainforest wildlife.
